At the Heart of the Sheyenne River Valley, you drop down into Lisbon, the Ransom County Seat, and home to 2300 friendly residents.  Situated on the National Scenic Byway, Lisbon boasts the best of two worlds; the safe, peaceful charm of a small country town and the modern conveniences of a healthy growing city. 

Though it is the Ransom County seat, the city of Lisbon remains an often overlooked hometown, offering a quality of life not often found in what many consider a rural community.

Much has changed since it's founding in 1880, including the buildings being restored through the local Renaissance revitalization process.  Buildings like the historic Lisbon Opera house, the Scenic Theater, and the Cole hardware buildings.  Yet much remains as it was.
